2.6.21 making money mean something — a crowdfunding update

preface
addressing the economic portion of making art is difficult. I had an artist friend write to me once, something to the effect of, “I want to keep doing this, and so because of that, I need to ask you to pay me.” I kind of like that–it’s blunt, self aware, honest. so,

actual update
as of last night, we raised over $1,200 for the responsorial through pre-orders, donations, and bandcamp sales! thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.

here’s a total (honest and blunt) estimated expense of things:
– the studio recording, mixing, and mastering is an estimated $4,000
– the lacquer master, plating, pressing, and packaging of the vinyl is an estimated $2,700
– the pressing and packaging of the cassettes is an estimated $400

all in all, a little over $7,000–which means we are 1/7th of the way there, and in less than 2 weeks! which, honestly, makes me substantially less stressed about the whole ordeal of jumping into the deep end of studio production and pre-selling records to you.

what next …
if you pre-ordered the album, donated, did both, or unsuspectingly bought my entire bandcamp discography, thank you so much. if you feel up for it (and comfortable utilizing ur social media account), posting about the project and crowdfunding would be SUPER helpful. I really just need to get the word out, build a little hype, you know.
here are some helpful links you could use to tell your friends (real or by insta-follower extension):

I can’t quite put into words how incredibly grateful I am that we have raised this much in 2 weeks. thank you, so very much, for your support through kind words, advice, and financial donation.

be well, stay safe!
